In this issue of PCGZine we have some huge games reviewed, and we start with the biggest in Mass Effect 2. The recently released sci-fi sequel by Bioware sees the return of the seemingly unstoppable Commander Shepard, who with a new team around him sets off to stop a new threat to the universe. A new year of online gaming has arrived and with it plenty of new online games to look forward to, in this issue we take a look at Cryptic’s new sci-fi MMO, Star Trek Online, which is currently in beta. Final Fantasy fans will be happy to hear that the first two games in the series will be coming soon to the iPhone for you to enjoy replaying through. We try out the new ModNation Racers Beta on the PS3 and give you our thoughts in our ‘Hour With feature’. BBC and ITV are set to go head to head as both begin creating casual video games out of their extensive back catalogue of TV shows. We have an interesting Battlefield: Bad Company 2 interview with DICE’s Patrick Bach up on our site for you to read now. Plus we take a look at piracy within PC gaming and the unpopular DRM used by developers to protect against the threat.

The developers of Forza Motorsport, Turn 10 have been linked with working on a new Natal Project, which begs the questions is there a motion sensor racing game on the way? Microsoft are releasing their last Mythic map pack for Halo 3 next month on the 2nd. Lord of the Rings Online has had some new patches released for it today that fixes certain issues with the skirmishes. The designer of MAG thinks that Xbox Live is “more juvenile” than the PSN, with PSN users more suited to their new online game. He also revealed that the games not limited to the current 256-player battles available, and that, that number could be exceeded in the future. You can download the new issue of 360Zine for free. A new year and a whole load of new games to enjoy, with the first few months of 2010 providing several huge titles for Xbox owners to enjoy. And in this issue we’ve gotten our hands on one of the biggest in Bioshock 2, the upcoming sequel by 2K Games. Where you will journey back to Rapture for another pulsating adventure through the disturbing metropolis. Things are a little different this time round however as you are no longer playing as Jack, no, this time you’re a Big Daddy!

Sony have released some new assets for God of War 3, with seven new screenshots being made available of Kratos which we’ve now placed on our site. Apparently Microsoft are in talks with ESPN with a view to bringing the huge sports channel to Xbox LIVE. Mark Gerhard the CEO of Jagex believes that free to play MMO’s aren’t getting enough attention in the gaming press. It has been revealed today that Activision could have bought Blizzard for £7million. And continuing with Activision the giant developers/publishers believe that their popular title DJ Hero was the highest grossing new IP of 2009. Bioware have confirmed reports that their highly anticipated sequel Mass Effect 2 will get a free launch DLC as soon as its released. The developers of Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow have been busy tweeting about the game and in one post revealed that the PS3 will be the “lead platform” for the upcoming title. It’s finally happened, Modern Warfare 2 has been knocked off number one spot in the UK charts by the Wii’s Just Dance. The BBC iPlayer has had its busiest month since being launched as millions of viewers download the software to view there favourite programmes in December. The iPhone has a new games app today with GTA Chinatown Wars being released for £5.99. Bungie’s creative director Joseph Staten has been talking about the frustration in developing Halo 3: ODST due to the games initial expansion pack beginnings. The new online PS3 game MAG is out this month and we’ve got a list of all the trophies you can win and how to acquire them. The US NPDs have arrived showing the sales figures for the gaming industry last month, and dominating the market was Nintendo with both their Wii and DS consoles. Developers Activision have confirmed that there is a DJ Hero 2 in development. Plus we bring you all the changes and tweaks made to the current character rooster in Super Street Fighter IV. SouthPeak Games have revealed that their crazy adventure game 3D Dot Game Heroes will be arriving in Europe this May. SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) have announced that this December has been the best ever since the consoles launch in 2006, with record sales recorded. Anyone hoping to get their hands on the new Dragon Age DLC – Return To Ostagar will be disappointed as developers Bioware have had to pull the DLC due to technical issues with the content. New post-apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth has had its second major update this week aimed at improving the games visuals and performance. We’ve got a quick preview for new MMO Star Trek Online up on our site now. And we take a look at whether Modern Warfare 2 has been the victim of its own success, due to recent criticisms of the game spreading all over the internet.

In a recent survey conducted by GamesIndustry.biz it has been revealed that 10,1000 industry professionals believe the Wii will do Worse than the iPhone this year. Capcom’s new fighter Tatsunoko vs Capcom Ultimate All-Stars will apparently feature a small mini shooting game for Wii owners to enjoy. The senior vice president of EA believes that boxed products will remain important for another 20 years, even as the rising trend in digital distribution increases.
