Modern Warfare 2 has been highly anticipated with pre-sales going through the roof over the last few months but can this juggernaut of a game live up to all our high expectations? Bad Company 2 gunning for Modern Warfare 2The CEO of EA John Riccietello has been venting his frustration over poor Wii sales regarding some of their big titles, he also criticised Nintendo for not doing enough to improve the Wii software. EA also hope to covert angry online Call of Duty players over to Battlefield Bad Company 2, due to the furor over the no dedicated servers issue. Borderlands 2 seems to be a dead cert as the developers are delighted with how the RPG/FPS has done since its release, saying it looks like a “no-brainer” to make a sequel. The much talked about Natal software by Microsoft will come out next November. And sadly for MMO gamers it looks as if Guild Wars 2 won’t be out until 2011.

New Medal of Honour to be revealedEA’s Frank Gibeau has been quoted as saying that the developers are working on a new Medal of Honour as they try and revitalise the classic franchise. We have another Left 4 Dead 2 hands-on, in which we preview the recent demo for the game and give our first impressions. In our blog we discuss why Modern Warfare 2 is coming out 2 days later on valve then in the shops and we also take a look at Mircrotransactions in MMO’s and discuss whether their worth it. Plus we also have a look at this years Golden Joystick Awards 2009, in which we see who the main winners and losers are.

Modern Warfare 2The UK supermarkets are fighting it out over who can get the best deal to the public for the eagerly sought after Modern Warfare 2, with Sainsbury’s currently offering the best price. The Dragon Age: Origins Toolset free update is now available to download, this new toolset will allow you complete freedom to build your own levels and stories for the game. HMV and GAME have both been shipping Modern Warfare 2 a little early to customers, with some lucky buyers getting to play the game today. And lastly developers Activision Blizzard have launched a new non-profit organisation to help veterans integration back into society called CODE.

RageDevelopers Cryptic have set a release date for the upcoming space MMO Star Trek Online. Infinity Ward have confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 has unsurprisingly done well in pre-sales figures, setting new sales records for the company. The developers have also giving a glimmer of hope for fans of the game, saying that dedicated servers aren’t off the table. And another big game looks to miss out on its own dedicated server with developers id Software saying that Rage may not be getting one. EA Vice President for UK and Ireland Keith Ramsdale has made some interesting statements at a recent showcase event about the companies philosophy and the future of gaming. And lastly we have a little overview of the new infected classes included in the upcoming zombie sequel Left 4 Dead 2.

Modern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer launches before launchThe popular MMO, World of Warcraft has now opened up a Pet Store for users in which you can buy two new in-game companions. Infinity Ward have released the new ‘Launch’ trailer for Modern Warfare 2 featuring a whole load of action, huge gunfights and general carnage, and there’s also a rather intriguing space scene clip. Continuing with Modern Warfare 2 it has been announced by Robert Bowling that there will be MW2 themed items and costumes for your Xbox 360 avatars available on XBL later today. And finally we try out NCsoft’s MMO Aion in our 1 hour review feature.

Beginning with the most eagerly sought after sequel, Assassins Creed II. Its been well document that Ubisoft have worked on correcting all the flaws that blighted the original game to deliver a more entertaining experience. Call of Duty 4 Modern WarfareA short and sweet news round-up today with just the two stories to talk about. The first one is about the new Zelda game and the Wii Motion Plus, which apparently according to Mr Miyamoto will use the system to the best of its ability, i.e. using the remote as a life-like sword. And in today’s other story, Call of Duty 4’s map pack is now half price on Xbox Live costing a much more affordable 400 Microsoft Point. Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay TonyJessie Stern the story writer for Infinity Ward describes how he and his fellow writers come up with the plot line behind the popular Modern Warfare games. Warren Spector the famous games designer who’s currently working on the Disney Epic Mickey game has been quoted in a recent interview that he would like to return to Deus Ex. And we have a new feature on the GamerZine website in which we play an hour of a game and then give you our initial impressions, we’re starting off with the recently released GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony.
