The original Super Smash Bros. was actually not a very critically lauded game. Perhaps the reviewers all played it by themselves though, because this was my most played and most enjoyed game on the Nintendo 64.

Now, over 10 years after its release, we’ll be getting our hands on this little puppy again. The original brawler will be released on the Wii Virtual Console, which in effect makes all Smash Bros. games available on one easy to use console.

Super Smash Bros. has eight fighters spanning the range of the Nintendo games from Pikachu to Samus to Fox, along with four unlockable brawlers for your fighting pleasure. Much like the newest game in the series you’ll have plenty of items to play with, and some memorable levels.

Super Smash Bros. is released Friday, June 12th. Technically you could buy it on Thrusday at midnight, but I’ll leave that up to you.
