Nintendo have sent out their enormous list of 1st party and 3rd party titles scheduled for release in Q3 and it’s the usual mix of shovelware and interesting little gems. Still no mention of Excitebots though.

Nintendo Wii Highlights

  • Cursed Mountain (Deep Silver) – August. This looks like a genuinely interesting survival horror title, so it’s nice to see it scheduled for the quiet summer months.
  • Metroid Prime Trilogy (Nintendo) – 4th September. Japan got the first two games as New Play Control variants on Wii. Europe and North America get the trilogy packaged together, so lets hope it’s the New Play Control versions.
  • Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Ubisoft) – September. I’ve got not idea what this is either, but you got to show some interest with a title like that.
  • Colin McRae Dirt 2 (Codemasters) – September. This is worth mentioning purely becuase there are so few realistic racers on Wii
  • Spyborgs (Capcom) – September. This 3D brawler certainly looked impressive when I recently saw footage.

Nintendo DS

  • Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box (Nintendo) – September. At last we get more Professor Layton, even if they’ve changed the name for the European version.
  • Kirby Super Star Ultra (Nintendo) – September. The last DS Kirby game was a bit of a corker, so hopes are high for this one.
  • Steal Princess (Rising Star Games) – September. An interesting but not stunning puzzler from Climax Entertainment and already out in North America
  • My World My Way (Rising Star Games) – 11th September. Another game that was released in North America earlier this year gets a release coutesey of Rising Star. In this case it got very mixed reviews so might be worth checking out if you love JRPGs.
